BRIEF HISTORY
The department of Architectural Technology initially existed as the Department of Architecture and Quantity Surveying. It was headed by Arc. O.B.A. Adeyemi-Doro from October 1986 – October 1989.
The name was later changed to The Department of Architecture and Town Planning with TPL. S.O. Gbadamosi as the Head of Department before October 1989 to September 1993; followed by Arc. F.S. Alabi as the Head before October 1993 – February 1994; and TPL Farore between February 1994 – May 1994. The department thereafter metamorphosis to the Department of Architectural Technology in 1994 and remain so till date. It was headed by Arc. F.S. Alabi between 1994 – 2001 and was succeeded by Arc. F.O. Enilolobo from 2001 – 2002. From 2002 – 2004, Arc. Onifade A.O. also headed the Department and later again Arc. F.S. Alabi became the Head of Department between 2004 – 2008. Late Arc. A.D. Ajani from May 2008 – September 2008. Arc. F.S. Alabi also from 2008 – 2010. Arc. (Mrs.) Siyanbola S.O. headed the Department from 2010 – 2012.
Arc. Babatunde L.O. headed the department from October 2012 – February 2015 and was succeeded by Arc. A.B. Siyanbola between February 2015 and September 2015. Arc. Babatunde L.O. again became the Head of Department from Oct 2015 till date.
ACCREDITATION
It is indeed heart-warming to note some of the achievements recorded by the department in recent years. ND Architectural Technology was granted Re-accreditation for five (5) years by the NBTE in 2003 and also in 2008 respectively. The department was also granted revalidation by the NBTE in 2015 and Reaccreditation of National Diploma in 2016. The department welcomes the birth of Higher National Diploma in Architectural Technology. The National Board for Technical Education NBTE granted accreditation to run HND in Architectural Technology in 2016.

We cherish the infusion of traditional architectural creativity with technological innovation within the context of modern trends in technical design guidelines.
WHAT WE DO?
We train and build up Architectural Technologist who will respond positively to the contemporary global environmental challenges and human settlement issues in relation to the growing socio cultural technological and economic challenges.
ACHIEVEMENTS
We participate in industrial attachments/Internship programmes. We also participate in seminars and conferences across the globe.

GOALS
The National Programme in Architectural Technology is aimed at Producing Technicians for the Architectural Profession. The Objectives are to produce a Diplomat that will be able to:
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the course is to produce diplomats withy sound grasp of the basic skills to be able to contribute to the work of an architect or Contractor and with experience will become available member of their respective teams.
The course also provide a foundation for those wishing to further their studies by entering HND Programme in Architectural Technology, or Courses in other construction related professions.
ND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum entry requirements is five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in Mathematics, English and Physics and two from Engineering/Technical Drawing, Fine Art, Geography, Chemistry, Music, Biology and Economics.
The programme is for four academic semester duration spread over two years. It includes a period of supervised Industrial Training with an approved organization during the three months’ vacation at the end of the Second Semester of ND I.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Higher National Diploma (HND) Architectural Technology is aimed at producing Technologist for the architectural profession and other sectors of the building industry. The graduates of HND programme will be able to:

Applicants with the following qualifications may be considered for admission into the Higher National Diploma programme:
In exceptional cases, ND diplomats with a pass (CGPA 2.00-2.49) in the ND examinations and must have two or more years of cognate experience in the specific field may be considered for admission into the into the HND programme.
