GENERAL INFORMATION

Computer Science Department is one of the newly approved Course as at 2015/2016 Academic Session though it has been existing as a Unit under Mathematics and Statistics Department since 2013/2014.

The National Diploma in Computer is a two years programme designed to produce Computer Science Personnel at the intermediate manpower level.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The training / programme will provide students with:

  • A good knowledge of basic statistical methods;
  • An understanding of statistics and its applications within commercial, industrials and scientific environment;
  • Practical skill in data collection, research methodology, analysis and design of experiments leading to decision making or prediction;
  • Acquaintance with the working of Computer;
  • Development of their ability to think logically, organize their thought well, and communicate such thoughts clearly, so that the graduates of the programme will be able to work in research centers, government establishments, industries and commercial houses as Computer Scientists.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ND PROGRAMME

NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND)

Five (5) credit passes in the WASC, SSCE or GCE O’Level in not more than two sittings in Mathematics, English Language and Physics plus two (2) other Credits pass from the underlisted subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Biology / Agricultural Science / Animal Husbandry
  • Economics / Commerce
  • Geography
