Meet the Rector: Dr. Surv. Ajibola Sikiru Adetona

About the Rector

Dr. Surv. Ajibola Sikiru Adetona was appointed as the Rector of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, in December 2022, following approval from the Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde. His appointment came as part of a state-led initiative to revitalize technical education in Oyo State.

Dr. Adetona brings a wealth of experience in academia, research, and administration. His leadership focuses on advancing the Polytechnic’s academic programs, fostering innovation, and ensuring students acquire industry-relevant skills.

  • Holds a Ph.D. in Surveying and Geoinformatics.
  • A registered Surveyor with a strong background in spatial data analysis, geographic information systems (GIS), and land administration.
  • Before his appointment, Dr. Adetona held various leadership roles in higher education institutions, where he contributed significantly to curriculum development, student mentorship, and institutional growth.

  • He has published numerous research papers and has been involved in several professional organizations dedicated to engineering and surveying disciplines.
