The department of Accountancy of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki offers a great choice of Accountancy Programme from ND to HND level. Courses are taught by professionally qualified Accountants who possessed wealth of teaching and practical experience.

ND Accountancy Programme Objectives

  1.  Set and assist in setting and operating the accounting system of any business in the economy.
  2. Analyze and interpret financial statements.

iii.        Advise clients on investment decisions.

  1.  Prepare budgets, fix and appraise standard costs and analyze variances for control purposes.
  2. Interpret basic statistical data.
  3. Analyze and interprete the working of the forces of demand and supply.

vii.       Carry out investigations on how the financial resources of companies have been used.

Entry Requirements for ND Accountancy

  1. Five credit passes in WASC, GCE, NABTEB, SSCE, & NECO but at not more than two sittings.
  2. Compulsory Credits:

English and Mathematics for the programme and any other three (3) from Geography, Yoruba, History, Government, IRK/CRK, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Commerce, Financial accounting, Bookkeeping, Literature in English, Business Methods, Statistics etc.

HND Accountancy Programme Objectives

The Higher National Diploma in Accountancy is designed to enable Students acquire a detailed theoretical/technical knowledge and thorough understanding of financial accounting, costing, auditing procedures and others required of an Accountant. This should place the diplomats in the senior management positions in industries, commerce and government.

Entry Requirements for HND Accountancy

(i)                 Five (5) O’ level Credits passes in WASC, GCE, NABTEB, and SSCE OR NECO at not more than two sittings.

(ii)               Compulsory Credits:

English and Mathematics for the programme and any other three (3) from Geography, Yoruba, History, Government, IRK/CRK, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Commerce, Financialaccounting, Bookkeeping, Literature in English, Business Methods, Statistics etc.

(iii)             National Diploma in Accountancy at Lower Credit or above plus one (1) Year Industrial Attachment Post ND or Pass with 2 years Industrial Attachment for Polytechnic Graduates only. (Candidates who hold National Diploma in Financial Studies are to note that the institution reserves the right to admit them for HND Accountancy, Banking & Finance or Insurance)
